Beginning Introduction into Gin

The game is a decent practice for beginning or experienced Gin players. The emphasis on the play is knocking, which is based on having 10 or less points. In actual play, the card that is turned up determines the amount that you can knock with. When you knock, if you have less points than the opponent, you subract their points exceeding the points in your cards you cannot meld in either runs or three or four of a kind. The opponents cards can be added to your melds and you can be undercut. A Gin or an undercut is worth 25 points to which you add the opponents excess points.
